Bexley Historical Society in Kent UK was established in December 1951 and is a small and friendly Society that meets monthly, normally on the second Monday of each month.
We listen to various speakers talking about their favourite local, general historical and archaeological subjects generally about the Bexley Borough in Kent and its surrounding areas. Please see our forthcoming Talks
Above all we are a Society that fosters a wider interest in all matters of historical significance appertaining particularly to our local Bexley Borough. Through our Then & Now project we are creating a photographic record of the whole borough, and our regular Newsletter keeps members and visitors informed of our activities. In September 2011 we began an exciting new project, Changing Times: 100 Years of the Broadway, Bexleyheath, 1912-2012 , funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and in partnership with Bexley Local Studies and Archive Centre.
We are the oldest local history society in the borough, and on December 2011 we celebrated our 60th Birthday
Please do contact us if you would like more information on the Bexley Historical Society or would like to take part in any of our activities.
