Bexley Historical Society was established by history-loving citizens, as part of our Constitution states, "as a non profit organization to encourage an interest in both local, general historical and archaeological matters particularly those relating to the area within the boundaries of the Borough of Bexley".
The topics of our talks vary from places of local interest to national treasures and the lives of local celebrities. With parking and disabled access, and tea/coffee and biscuits, a very warm welcome awaits all our visitors.
Membership costs just £18 per year. To join, please come along to one of our meetings.
The committee, elected at the AGM in February 2017 and by subsequent committee meetings, is composed of the following officers and members:
Chairman: Mrs Sally Kirkpatrick
Secretary: Miss Penny Duggan (also Speakers' Secretary)
Treasurer: Mr Clive Hopwood
Membership Secretary: Miss Kim Davis
Mrs Anne Forrester (Catering Committee)
Mr Peter Forrester (Minutes Secretary and Catering Committee)
Mr Les Gregory
Mr John Jones
Bexley Historical Society is the oldest of the borough's local history societies and we are proud of our history.
